Once Mary finished school she took up office work in her home county; Meath in Ireland. It was whilst she was working in an office that she auditioned and successfully got the job as vocalist with a band called Jukebox. She then gave up office work and remained with Jukebox for about 3 years.
It was when Mary entered and won the Sunday World Nationwide Talent Competition, in Ireland, that she really made her mark. At that time she met Sean Reilly who was to become her manager. It was soon after that Mary signed to Ritz Records, since which time she has achieve much success with the albums. She also auditioned for, and was offered, the special guest slot on Daniel O'Donnels first UK concert tour. Such was the success that today Mary still remains Daniel's special guest.
As well as the numerous music awards Mary has to her name, in 1990 Mary was named Meath Person Of The Year; a much prized accolade received from her home County.
Mary is married to Paul McKenna, who is now her Manager, and who splits his time between running their own business, Newtown Country Club, and being on the road with Mary for her own concert tours.
Mary's success continues to take her from strength to strength, and this is clearly apparent with her first solo shows in the USA taking place in May 2009, where she is surely destined to achieve even further success.
